Pear Tree Studio Arts is a full service art studio in Bedford, NH. Resident Artist, Donna M. Pereira, provides instruction in all media from Fine Arts to pottery, and is now offering private and group lessons.

The studio took its name from the meaning of my last name. Pereira in Portuguese literally means "pear tree." I am proud of my Portuguese heritage and wanted my studio name to reflect that. Pear Tree Studio Arts is situated on seven acres of wonderfully peaceful serenity, complete with a one-acre natural spring fed koi pond and many flower gardens. All of which provide me with unlimited inspiration.

About Donna

I grew up in the historic town of Plymouth, MA. Having six brothers and five sisters, there was no time or money for art classes. As a little girl I would make centerpieces with candles and flowers and go around the neighborhood selling them. I spent hours cracking open rocks and discovering the pictorial images within them. In school I took every creative class available, from art to chorus, band, sewing, cooking. I was part of the art and drama clubs. My need to create and overactive imagination led me to discover a variety of media in the realm of art to express myself- all of which continue to this day. My love of art and nature inspired me to become an art teacher. Through art, my students create, discover, share, and develop ideas that become the basis for their art works. My role as a teacher is to stimulate a love of art through positive life-long learning experiences and to help students develop their talents.
